I'M A DESIGNER AND AN ARTIST
Hey there! Welcome to my website. My name is Myron Mielke (pronounced Milky). I live in Lancaster, CA, the High Desert area of SoCal, hence the Joshua Trees on this site.
With over three decades of experience in the field of graphic design, I bring a wealth of expertise and knowledge to the table. My focus and specialization lie in print design, where I have honed my craft to create visually compelling and impactful designs. Throughout my career, I have operated 4-color presses and bindery equipment. I helped implement a newspaper pagination system and set guidelines for an electronic imaging department. (I’ve even worked with letterpress and typesetting machines, giving me a comprehensive understanding of the printing process.)
Beyond my proficiency in print design, I have also established myself as an award-winning fine artist and illustrator. My artistic skills and creative vision enhance my ability to conceptualize and bring designs to life. In addition to traditional tools like pencils and paint, I am well-versed in industry-standard software such as Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, and Illustrator, enabling me to translate ideas from concepts to finished products seamlessly. With a keen eye for detail, a passion for artistic expression, and a comprehensive understanding of design principles, I am fully equipped to deliver exceptional and visually captivating designs that exceed expectations.
For the past 20 years I have done live-art performances. These involve creating a piece of artwork live in front of an audience in a limited amount of time with a backdrop of live music. Some artwork pieces have been created in as little as five minutes. Some at 30 minutes. I’ve done both acrylic and oil paintings with brushes, painted with my hands only, and I’ve done clay sculpting.
